Simon Whitton Talks Fish, Streams, and Challenges
15th May 2025
At last night’s monthly AKV meeting, we were fortunate to welcome Simon Whitton as our guest speaker.
Simon gave a fascinating talk about the Kaikorai Stream, focusing on the fish that live in it and the challenges they face navigating a streambed that has been heavily modified. He also shared insights into the broader characteristics of the stream, helping us build a deeper understanding of this vital part of our local environment.
The talk resonated - one attendee emailed us afterwards to say:
I just wanted to drop you a very quick line to say I thought last night’s talk was super interesting and informative.
A big thank you to Simon for sharing his time and knowledge, and to everyone who came along and contributed to the kōrero.
