The Start

How Aroha Kaikorai Valley came to be

In 2017 the Turboweb team made the controversial move from the very trendy Vogel Street and bought the building at 381 Kaikorai Valley Road. At the time, the place was a real mess, the building was overrun with rats, the section had been let go and was covered in gorse and broom nearly three metres high. To top it off, people had been dumping rubbish over the bank toward the stream. In the process of the clean-up the team became inspired to do something about it, we cleaned up the rubbish and the weeds (an ongoing battle) and started to plant new plants and natives.

Maybe if we just tried, something could happen

This is us starting something

As time moved on and we saw more of the valley, we started talking about how or what we could do to help enhance the valley for future generations. We decided to form a charity organisation to facilitate the general improvement of the Kaikorai Valley environment. We know a lot of people who know a lot of people, and many of them have talent, skills and resources. We figured if we could start something small it just might catch on.

So, this is us having a go at getting people on board to make small differences in our beautiful valley.
