Earth Day cleanup

Come and partake in Earth Day 2026! We’ll be taking care of our wee patch by cleaning up both sides of the stream between Townleys Road and Donald Street. We’ll be providing a menu of activities: picking up rubbish, removing noxious weeds, cutting tracks, and servicing predator traps. Meet at Townleys Road by the bridge at 10am. Wear outdoor gear and good footwear like tramping boots, gumboots or waders. We’ll supply gloves but you may wish to bring your own gardening gloves.

Please park on Kaikorai Valley Road, and walk the few metres to the start of the track.

Please note there are no toilets on site. You can ask for a key to use the facilities at Turboweb, or use the public toilets at 187 Main South Road, Green Island.

If the event needs to be postponed or cancelled, a notice will appear on this page, and the AKV facebook page on the morning of the event.
