Plenty of exciting work going on in the background and some wheels starting to turn in the right direction.

Predator Control Plan

The predator control plan has been delivered by Boffa Miskell. It is very comprehensive and prescribes a robust and orderly method of setting up our residential trap network.

Traps Have Landed

We have ordered a 100 D-Rat Traps, 25 Mouse traps, 10 DOC 200 traps from Connovation NZ, they have landed and are ready to be rolled out.

Trap Boxes

Two fine Gentlemen from the North Dunedin Shed , Gerard and Chris, delivered 100 trap boxes to the AKV shed. Which is a real shot in the arm to the project. It is a lot of work and materials to put 100 boxes together, so thanks guys and big thanks to City Sanctuary for organising them!

Trapping Workshops

Trapping workshops in the valley will be announced at the official launch of Aroha Kaikorai Valley Trust 20th June 2023 at Kaikorai College.
Likely dates at this stage are:

9th July afternoon AKV trapping workshop
23rd July Trapper Training session 2 - 3 hours in the field.
